I've been reflecting on the past year a lot lately and everything that has happened in my life. Like most everyone I've said and done things I'm not proud of, and the choices I've made have not only put me in too many predicaments to count, but also have made me lose a number of people in my life that were very near and dear to my heart. It's funny, because when I was younger I thought I was invincible. I would hear everyone's "grown up problems," and think to myself, "While that sucks for you it's never going to happen to me." Well, years later I couldn't have asked for a harder slap in the face. The things I never would have imagined to happen to me happened and I couldn't believe how naive I was as a young girl. I felt like I was in my own safe bubble and then something or someone came along and decided to pop it, exposing me to "The World" we so often hear about but don't get a glimse of too often.
It seemed not long after that I began to experience what life really holds in store for you. I became easily frustrated, annoyed and stressed. My life became so complicated and mentally exhausting I couldn't get out of the hole I dug for myself, let alone see where to go. I had heartbreaks. And a whole lot of them. I started blaming others, especially my family, for the rotten things that were going on in my life, things I had intentionally or unintentionally brought upon myself.
But among all of the negativity I seem to pick up wherever I go, I've found out I have an unwavarable tool, which is Hope. While things are not going at all like the way I've planned and I've taken too many wrong turns to even see the light at the end of the tunnel, Hope is always there to give me a little insight of where I'm headed. I do get discouraged now and then about how my life is going to be. Many of my friends are already married and have a baby, and looking at myself I wonder if I'm ever going to get to that point. But I live life everyday and never give up on the idea that there is someone out there for me that I can be happy with for the rest of my life. I have a dream to become a well-known writer, to touch people's lives and give them the Hope that they need to overcome their obstacles. So for all of you who have had that hard slap in the face, or felt like something or someone popped your bubble, I'm not going to lie, it's going to be an awfully long journey to get to where you're going to end up, but don't ever give up on Hope.
