Reflection....

I've been reflecting on the past year a lot lately and everything that has happened in my life. Like most everyone I've said and done things I'm not proud of, and the choices I've made have not only put me in too many predicaments to count, but also have made me lose a number of people in my life that were very near and dear to my heart. It's funny, because when I was younger I thought I was invincible. I would hear everyone's "grown up problems," and think to myself, "While that sucks for you it's never going to happen to me." Well, years later I couldn't have asked for a harder slap in the face. The things I never would have imagined to happen to me happened and I couldn't believe how naive I was as a young girl. I felt like I was in my own safe bubble and then something or someone came along and decided to pop it, exposing me to "The World" we so often hear about but don't get a glimse of too often.
It seemed not long after that I began to experience what life really holds in store for you.  I became easily frustrated, annoyed and stressed. My life became so complicated and mentally exhausting I couldn't get out of the hole I dug for myself, let alone see where to go. I had heartbreaks. And a whole lot of them. I started blaming others, especially my family, for the rotten things that were going on in my life, things I had intentionally or unintentionally brought upon myself.
But among all of the negativity I seem to pick up wherever I go, I've found out I have an unwavarable tool, which is Hope. While things are not going at all like the way I've planned and I've taken too many wrong turns to even see the light at the end of the tunnel, Hope is always there to give me a little insight of where I'm headed. I do get discouraged now and then about how my life is going to be. Many of my friends are already married and have a baby, and looking at myself I wonder if I'm ever going to get to that point. But I live life everyday and never give up on the idea that there is someone out there for me that I can be happy with for the rest of my life. I have a dream to become a well-known writer, to touch people's lives and give them the Hope that they need to overcome their obstacles. So for all of you who have had that hard slap in the face, or felt like something or someone popped your bubble, I'm not going to lie, it's going to be an awfully long journey to get to where you're going to end up, but don't ever give up on Hope.

Stress

Lately I've been feeling a little stressed out than normal. I'm having serious writer's block just a few pages into my book, pressures of work and flaky friends are starting to take a toll, which also is starting to make me feel blue. We all get stressed now and then, (or in my case, very often) so that brings me to another point. How do we get rid of stress? Yes, we all have our little "remedies" that can do the trick, such as: stress balls, slow breathing, sleeping, ect., but all scientific facts aside, do they really work? Almost everyone has abided by the "You can choose if your happy or sad" reference, and I guess that can be true by the way you see life. For instance, I can sit on this computer all day and write about all the big or little things that constantly annoy me and stress me out, or I could get off my tush and experience life. By experience I don't mean just the physical aspect, but also mental. I can't even count the many times I've missed out on a great opportunity just because I wasn't enjoying the moment. When I lived in Logan for a few months, I learned this exact lesson. Moving to a new place not knowing anyone shouldn't be an excuse for staying cooped up inside your house practically invisible to the world, which is exactly what I was doing. My roommates were always out and about meeting new people and having fun, while I was being miserable and doing the opposite. So why was I staying miserable when I could have had fun? I'm still trying to find that answer myself. It could have been because I was too insecure with myself to get up and make friends, or maybe I was finding excuses to hate the place, because I wanted so badly to come home to St. George. Either way, I missed out. My point to this whole post is to not let the little things get you down, because once you start to they will grow, and those little problems you thought you had will be much bigger. Yes, I'm stressed and need a break from life, but one of my "remedies" for this is writing, and honestly, I feel much better.

I'm going to let you all in on a little secret. This book is absolutely AMAZING. When I'm having an off day I just whip this baby out and read it a few times. It's a little reminder of how valuable life is and seems to cheer me up whenever i look through it. Not to mention it's hilarious. So go to the nearest bookstore and get it:) I promise it will be worth your money spent.

WHAT A STUD!

Tada! Look who's back in business. I can't believe that's it's been almost a year since my last post. So much has been going on lately I don't know where to even start! My next few posts are going to be backtracking and catching you all up on what's been going on these past few months, so bear with me as I attempt to remember and recall EVERYTHING. I think i'll start with the earliest I can remember, then work my way to the most recent. As some of you may know, I am a HUGE Bon Jovi fan! For Christmas I recieved two tickets from my parents to go and see his concert in Vegas. Can you even imagine how excited I was?! I immediately called up my best friend Casidee and asked if she wanted to go and what'ya know? Turns out she's a big fan too! Well, the concert was about three months away, and we spent every minute planning for the big day! It's all we ever talked about, and i'm surprised we didn't bore our friends to death with the constant mention of it. Well, I'll just stop talking and let you enjoy our lovely pictures we took on this adventure:)
